sunlight here:
on light and love
i will do almost anything
to see you again
luckily i can
i have a long standing
love letter
to the light here
the words have lived in me
i never knew how special it was
until I moved far away
thinking my dreams would find
a better podium to rest on
the sunlight on the building
bounces back into the irises and cones
and retina
no matter the time of day
colors of houses
dreamt up by a kid somewhere
yet coming into fruition
in front of our eyes
kaleidoscope
a beautiful form seen
i am sure there are reasons the light is different
in our city
there are no lists for love
love is an action,
not just a feeling.
i have sought hiding places
when danger or rejection
was close by
even from the ones I loved
and love.
what if love is not a reward
for good behavior
something to be won?
peace found
in not gathering evidence
love is the surprise
love is the peace found
love is allowing the showing up
love is in the not naming it
love is knowing the light glows
different here
just by being
the light on the building
reflects back to me
i try and capture it
the rainbow after rain
back again
the shadows dance
playing with the sun
as it drifts back to slumber
where is the line
between inspiring
and overpowering?
where is the separation
the lines
of knowing it all
the peccadilloes
and still
to be seen and known
Fully
being one of the most beautiful things we
get in this world.
alchemy
percolating into providence
how many ancestors of mine walked watching the light
in this city?
the sun sets early
now
i walk to see
the last moments
to see her shine
the tree and telephone
lines and street sign
project
the movie
we always
wanted
here and gone
again.
